| | Over the past 15 years, the EuroPACS logo has evolved and changed several times. The original design by Profesor Heinz Lemke and his team in the early Eighties was for a long time the recognized logo of the EuroPACS association. In 1997, the board of directors of EuroPACS reviewed the original logo and many of those that had been created for different EuroPACS annual meetings. Comments and criticism were collected for a redesign. This page is a summary of how the various suggestions were appraised. | Original logo created by H. Lemke
- Too complex, too many details
- Too difficult to display in low resolution (Web Pages)
- Must be upgraded to include political changes
- The "Euro" seems to be detached and unrelated to the logo
- No direct relation with "medical" or "imaging" themes
|
 | EuroPACS'94 (Geneva)
- Slight changes in perspectives
- Integration of "Euro" in the logo
- Used only for the meeting in Geneva
|
 | EuroPACS'95 (Berlin)
- Return to the original logo
- Last time this logo was used was in Berlin
|
 | EuroPACS'96 (Heraklion)
- Too many details (map)
- Stars for active "PACS" projects ? or previous meetings?
- No pictural originality. Lacks visual impact.
- No direct relation with "medical" or "imaging" themes
|
 | EuroPACS'97 (Pisa)
- Same criticism as for '96 logo
- More neutral without the "stars" on selected sites
- No pictural or visual impact.
- No direct relation with "medical" or "imaging" themes
|
 | News Letter logo (Bazis-Hiscom)
- Simple design with good visual impact
- Good reference to the European community (without the map)
- The "lungs" are not very "radiological" and too anatomical
- Poor contrast of the EuroPACS title in black on blue background
|
 | New modified logo (first proposal) ver.0.1
- First attempt to re-use the News-Letter logo
- The design was already widely visible through the Web News Letters
- Modified based on comments and suggestions from the board
- Visual reference to information technology
- Requires more schematic drawing of the computer workstation
- Remove the keyboard? Simpler design?
